About James Clark

Passionate Cinematographer and Editor | Creative Problem Solver | StorytellerI am a self-taught Cinematographer and Editor with a deep-rooted love for storytelling. My journey began within the family business, and over time, I've extended my skills into the dynamic world of the Canadian Film industry.Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated and hardworking crews in the field. From TV shows like Arrow, Supergirl, and Flash to producing, filming, and editing my own Independent Feature film, I've honed my craft in diverse settings.I am profoundly motivated and inspired by collaboration with creative individuals who are eager to share their stories. I believe in the power of creative problem-solving, effective communication, and a deep understanding of the craft. Whether I'm on set, behind the camera, or immersed in the editing process, I cherish every facet of the creative journey. You'll often find me immersed in After Effects, meticulously editing in Davinci, or exploring the endless possibilities of new hardware. One of the most challenging and rewarding experiences in my career was as a Projection Designer for the Caravan Stage Company. In this role, I undertook the creative responsibility of a mixed-media live theatre show, pushing the boundaries of my creativity. I crafted 85% of the show's animations, seamlessly blending five animated characters with live actors and aerialists. We performed on the deck of a 100ft Tall ship, utilizing a vast array of tools - from After Effects to motion capture, green screen to the Unreal engine. The result was a one-of-a-kind 4D art installation, projected using two large Barco projectors and seven Benq projectors.Beyond my work, I am deeply committed to my faith and contribute to my community through active participation at my church. I also find joy in caring for my nephews and expressing myself on the dance floor. Whether it's salsa, bachata, or west coast swing, I relish the opportunity to connect with people on a deeper level.I'm passionate about the creative process, eager to collaborate on new projects, and excited to continue sharing stories that resonate with audiences.
