Operating within the computer aided engineering (CAE) team developing the design & manufacturing strategies for submarine reactor components. Responsibilities include:- Liaising with a host of teams including design, manufacturing, welding, machining etc. ensuring capture of design intent with an efficient, cost effective manufacturing approach- Generating 3D CAD models, managing assemblies & BOMS using Siemens NX 7.5 & Teamcenter- Producing detail, assembly and manufacturing stage drawings using a high degree of geometric dimension & tolerance (GD&T) specification

Working on multi-disciplinary projects in the civil/naval nuclear industry from concept through to detailed design.- Managed the design substantiation & validation process progressing designs of steel fabrications from concept into detailed designs- Developed design concepts for steel fabrications and assemblies in line with client requirements and engineering specifications- Analysed the structural integrity of designs via hand calculations & FEA demonstrating exceptional analytical & problem solving skills- Chaired & contributed in internal and client facing design & analysis reviews- Generated 3D CAD models & engineering drawings to BS 8888 using Inventor
