• Hackney Borough Council is currently undergoing a large regeneration project in excess of £1bn which will be spent over the next 15 years. I was brought in to provide advice on the following areas:
• Negotiate with stakeholders, leaseholders and freehold owners who have an interest in the scheme and agree a deal to acquire their interest (in excess of £7.5 million worth of primarily residential property)
• Continuous liaison with legal to ensure the deal is completed expediently
• Negotiate the statutory disturbance payments
• Weekly progress reporting with council departments and interested parties
• Provide professional advice concerning the Compulsory Purchase

In my role at Ardent Management I was involved in the project management of large regeneration and infrastructure schemes representing both the acquiring authorities and claimants. • Estates and Valuation Surveyor, Hartlepool Borough Council June 2006 to September 2012During my time at Hartlepool Council I was fully accountable for the management of an extensive portfolio of more than 100.
• The lead on the Compulsory purchase of 200 terraced properties in the Hartlepool area including valuation and negation of compensation packages and preparation of case for Lands Tribunal should the matter not be.
• Proactively acquiring 90 terraces properties by agreement to enable regeneration of the North Central Hartlepool area.
• Provide strategy advice to charities with regards the management of their property assets including landlord and tenant, valuation and disposals of their property holdings
• Evaluating the viability of potential acquisitions and making subsequent recommendations as well as negotiating new lettings
• Responsible for the management of external agents and for the development and execution of innovative marketing strategies

• I worked as an assistant estates surveyor at Durham Tees Valley Airport during my placement year at University. My role included:
• Providing assistance to the Estates Manager on general estate management such as rent reviews and lease renewal
• Liasing with tenants acting on any issues that they may have with regarding the property they occupy.
• Dealing with assignments and sublets checking suitability of incoming tenant through various methods such as referencing and credit checks
• Working closely with the Head of Maintenance resolving issues with regard maintenance and repairs to the Airports property portfolio
