Responsibilities:• Bring major tooling programs back under control and into schedule to achieve program deliverables• Global coordination of plastic injection mold build programs and tooling engineers throughout North America, Mexico, China, and India• Working in concert with procurement team to access, develop, and source tooling packages to global suppliers• Review and approve prototype, production, replacement, and capacity molds for center stack commodities• Provide tooling support to engineering and product design team as a subject matter expert for feasibility studies • Provide on-site support domestically and internationally for mold design reviews, tool builds, tryouts, first article inspections, mold tuning, corrections, process validations, troubleshooting, run at rate trials, and commissioning• Manage catastrophic mold and/or equipment failures to facilitate repairs and limit downtime losses• Direct tooling engineers across multiple continents to insure timing is met and products are delivered in whatever fashion is required• Evaluate, identify, and implement costs savings and quality improvements across all products and tools• Support sales and product development staff in pursuing and winning new business

Responsibilities:• Multi plant management and control of $42,000,000 USD of plastic injection and water injection molds• Review, approve, and source all prototype, production, replacement, and capacity molds for North American market• Participate in new product feasibility studies, Technical Design Reviews (TDR’s), and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Reviews (DFMA’s), and LOR/SOW/APQP definitions• Provide on-site support domestically and internationally for mold design reviews, tool builds, tryouts, first article inspections, mold tuning, corrections, process validations, troubleshooting, run at rate trials, and commissioning• Manage catastrophic mold and/or equipment failures to facilitate repairs and limit downtime losses• Direct tooling engineers, mold techs, and suppliers on proper mold maintenance procedures, ensure mold PM schedules are adhered to, and proper spare part inventories are maintained• Identify, purchase, maintain, and manage critical mold component inventories across all North American plants• Support hot plate welding technologies, hot stamping efforts, and injection molding process improvements• Evaluate, identify, and implement costs savings and quality improvements for products and tools• Work with customers and their customers design and development staff to develop new product lines• Support sales and European product development staff in pursuing and winning new business

Responsibilities:• Manage complex multi-tool Class “A” interior-exterior production, prototype, replacement, and capacity mold build programs in the USA, Mexico, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region• Review and approve all prototype, production, replacement, and capacity mold designs for injection molds, 2-shot rotational molds, and over molds for climate control modules, radios, bezels, ICPs, IPs, and consoles• Manage suppliers and PD to ensure tool build timing is met 100 percent of the time with quality targets achieved• Develop and aggressively manage risk and recovery plans for troubled tool builds• Provide expert evaluations for product feasibility in Technical Design Reviews (TDR’s)• Perform product tooling feasibility studies to support Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Reviews (DFMA’s)• Provide expert support for Moldflow, hot-runners, std. runner, and gating reviews• Provide on-site support domestically and internationally for tool builds, tool tryouts, mold tuning, corrections, ECN’s, process validations, troubleshooting, and run at rate trials• Maintain effective communications with all concerned parties via emails, teleconferences, meetings, timelines, open issue lists, and on-site visits to facilitate the resolution of tooling/design problems and timing issues• Perform Class ‘A’ surface reviews to obtain customer approval using (Mastercam, Solidworks, Catia, UGS)• Troubleshoot decorative issues such as painting, pad/tampo printing, laser etching, and chrome applications• Support sonic welding, heat staking, and gage manufacturing efforts• Provide input for APQP, Control Plan, 8D, and PPAP submissions• Perform supplier capability assessments, certifications, and training• Assist purchasing in negotiating costs and timing for new tooling and/or ECN’s• Develop and maintain proficiency in various 3D CAD-CAM packages (Catia, Mastercam, Solidworks, VisMock-up)• Learn Mandarin (Chinese) and Spanish to facilitate international efforts
