I lead a team who are successful in delivering State Development's services to businesses and industry by focusing on joint collaborations with stakeholders and aligning with other agencies to maximise the benefit. I have been instrumental in leading key regional projects and developing strategies that will have significant effect on the long term development prospects of the North Queensland region. I was responsible for a Business Retention and Expansion study and a report for the Charters Towers business community that provided an impetus for projects and will stimulate economic growth for the business community. Rural Industry Training and Extension (RITE) Charters TowersAs General Manager of RITE, I established and lead a Group Training Organisation and Registered Training Organisation. This unique organisation in 2004 employed 11 full time staff, 18 contractors and 125 rural trainees for the beef industry of Northern Australia. The area of operation took in all of North Queensland including Mt Isa, Boulia to Burketown and Clermont to Chillagoe. I took responsibility for developing systems and operational goals that guided staff to perform to targets, to service clients and comply with contract guidelines.
