As Projects and Partnership Manager I aim to provide the strategic direction for the development and education of football projects within Bristol, and ensure everyone has the chance to be actively involved in football in a safe, positive, high quality environment where they are given the appropriate support to be the best they can be. Which will help to build better, safer more respectful communities through the development of young people’s potential.

My Social inclusion programmes use sport and leisure activities to engage with disadvantaged and socially marginalised young people. Football/sport is used to establish relationships with these young people who are often alienated from “authority” figures such as teachers, police and even parents. The programmes will aim to have a positive influence on participants’ aspirations, confidence, substance misuse, physical activity and offending behaviour by widening horizons and providing access to lifestyle, education and employment opportunities within a supportive and culturally familiar environment. Measured through Social Impact reports and case studiesInterventions are likely to have the most significant impact where lasting relationships are formed around the activities and opportunities created for personal development, employment and training. As such it is fruitless to attempt to measure ‘success’ and ‘failure’ at any given moment in a total, fixed and uncontentious way. Rather the impact of interventions must be seen as partial, incremental, personal and diverse, with transitions rarely made in one or two easy steps.
