Jim works closely with other members of Greenleaf Trust’s Executive Council in creating, communicating, executing and sustaining the company’s strategic plan. Greenleaf Trust is one of Michigan's first public trust banks with independent research and investment philosophy. Today Greenleaf Trust manages over $11Bil in discretionary assets and has over $15Bil in assets under administration. He has also led the company's research, wealth management and personal trust divisions. He earned a Finance degree from the University of Southern Indiana, is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of West Michigan, and serves on the Investment Committee of the Western Michigan University Foundation Board and Sleeping Giant Capital.

Jim is responsible for leading Greenleaf Trust’s Wealth Management Division, consisting of Research Analysts and Wealth Management Advisors, and is responsible for market analysis, portfolio management and setting asset allocation guidance. He also serves as Chairman of the investment Policy Committee. Jim’s extensive background in investments as well as global manufacturing underscores his broad expertise in business analysis and strategy development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in financial administration from the University of Southern Indiana and has earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Vice President, Director of Research and Assistant Director of Wealth Management DivisionJim is responsible for leading the Research Team. The Research Team is responsible for individual security analysis and selection as well as overall asset allocation within the portfolio management process. In addition to leading the Research Team, Jim is responsible for coverage of numerous sectors including consumer discretionary, consumer staples, healthcare equipment and services, industrials, internationals, and large cap mutual funds. His extensive background in both the investment and global manufacturing industries provide expertise in business analysis and strategy development. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in financial administration from the University of Southern Indiana and has earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
