In terms of breadth of experience there are few people with more than me. I have worked everywhere from farming and ranching to IT support behind a desk. I spent my early twenties figuring out what I wanted to do with life. I've been able to do a lot of different jobs because I have always worked hard and made sure I knew what I was doing. I finally found that calling everyone talks about when I started coaching and teaching, and I really thought I might retire doing that. Covid happened(is happening) and I got together with a group of friends thinking "we should do something with all this extra time," so we started making a video game for fun. That project got bigger than we ever expected, and I realized there is a drastic lack of leadership skills out in that world, and there are people who need those skills. Perhaps I have a nomadic soul but two years ago we needed a company to launch our game and the friends I work with slapped titles like CEO and Executive producer on me, and I am excited to see where this new chapter takes me. So far this seems to be a matter of listening well, asking leading questions, and following up with people in a timely manner. When people get stuck you talk it out with them and most of the time they already want to do something they just need to hear someone else to tell them to be confident and go for it. Hard decisions are easy when you care about the people you work with. I hope I never have to eat those words, I'll reflect back on this five years from now and let you know ;)
