Managed a team tasked with delivering MI to senior business heads. Sales MI is a key component of performance evaluation and compensation as well as being the primary source of client and regional analysis, receiving the focus of individual salespeople, sales management and Barclays Directors.Built constructive relationships with global and regional sales management to identify service level gaps and to generate ways to add value, e.g. provided salesperson and client analysis to help target potential leads and areas for growth.Challenged existing priorities and processes within the team to improve product quality and create efficiencies. Mandated to provide BS substantiation and reporting across Fixed Income and Equity in Europe as part of a project to industrialize the PL and BS reporting functions. Established and managed a team of sixteen.Led transition planning; identified key objectives for new group; developed new client relationships and recruited team members from within the firm and externally.Developed an initiative to standardize account substantiation. Worked on concepts, documentation and communicated with management and team to ensure execution.Re-engineered the risk and balance sheet reporting process to ensure that senior management were supplied with salient information for strategic decision making.Seconded to the Prime Brokerage business unit to perform a review of financial reporting and MIS capabilities, outlining tactical and strategic projects to meet business demands.

As part of a cross regional team, set up the Korean branch of MSBI (a banking entity), establishing a functioning branch platform, principally to facilitate fixed income and FX trading. Received Chairman's Award for Excellence on behalf of the team for contribution.Rapidly adapted to cultural (business and social) barriers in Korea and Asia to develop constructive working relationships.Worked with third parties and new hires to gain an understanding of, and to analyse, the regulatory environment in Korea. Secondary analysis focused on technology and operational impacts on the branch.Initiated and completed a review of the GAAP accounting treatment across the three reporting jurisdictions - US (MS Group), UK (MSBI, UK), Korea (MSBI, Seoul).Owned development of the Korean market risk calculator - investigated software, created functional specifications, worked with vendor to build background architecture and designed testing plan.

Responsible for the financial reporting of one of MS Europe's most demanding entities - MSBI had a complex structure and heavy financial and regulatory oversight.Produced two sets of audited accounts, internal management reports and business packs for the board of directors (including budgets, pipeline and 5 year plans).Liaised extensively with MSBI Treasury and Tax departments to ensure that FX hedging, liquidity, transfer pricing and tax planning requirements were met.Migrated financial and reporting functions onto a software application developed with IT.

Performed risk oversight for interest rate risk and commodities products. Began as an analyst completing daily tasks and was subsequently promoted to manager of the area.Learned the nature of products traded on MSIL (focus on fixed income) and associated regulatory rules and systems for calculating risk values.Identified and designed a process that saved $45m of daily regulatory capital, through the innovative treatment of a product.Developed relationships with numerous parties across the business to understand the activities of the desks and validate the data in the risk calculations

Successfully reported pension fund positions (NAV, dividend/interest payments due, liquidity requirements) in an accurate and timely manner to fund managers and financial control management.Initiated a project to cross train the Corporate Actions and Fund Accounting departments, improving knowledge and working relations.
