His leadership resulted in ESIT 2 setting the standard on the waterfront as the only team 100% qualified at or above paygrade in all mission areas.

At CVN 75 Harry S. Truman from 2007 to 2010, Petty Officer Jansma held several job titles, including Assistant Watch Commander, Patrolman, Watch Commander, Security Trainer, and Patrol Supervisor. He led teams of up to 180 personnel in all facets of Law Enforcement, Force Protection, and Physical Security. He accomplished many notable achievements, such as training over 200 security personnel, coordinating 53 investigations, and supervising 785 foreign dignitaries during high-threat foreign port visits.

Naval Security Force and Patrol Officer at Naval Station Newport, I conducted AT/FP measures, waterfront security, and maintained good order and discipline onboard the installation. I responded to more than 81 calls for service and completed 76 incident reports. Through excellent proactive public contact, I identified two persons with active bench warrents in the local comunity enhancing public safety. I also served as the Duty Armorer, responsible for 77 military weapons, over 3,500 rounds of ammunition, and supervising the issuing of 67 contractor guard firearms. I have mentored and trained other personnel, including four Auxiliary Security Force personnel, and checked over 40,000 vehicles and pedestrians with zero incidents.
