Current head of accounting policy (US GAAP, US STAT and Bermuda STAT) and strategic transactions at a 25+ billion AUM PE backed life insurance group (company growing from 3 bil AUM to 25+ bil during my time here). Finance lead for M&A and reinsurance transactions, having closed 10+ reinsurance transactions, the acquisition of several investment platforms, and successful acquisition and integration of a large public life insurer. Worked through formation of Bermuda reinsurer and US captive life insurer. Currently also lead investment accounting for the company, leading GAAP and STAT reporting on investments, completing 2 successful conversions onto Clearwater. Working with asset manager to structure investments in/acquisition of complex financial, non-financial and real assets onto insurance balance sheet. Led the company's successful adoptions of revenue recognition, lease accounting, CECL, LDTI, NAIC bond guidance, Iowa method for derivatives/reserving. Previously, director in external audit at PwC with 12+ years of experience. Experienced with large international life, annuities, A&H, P&C and reinsurance companies along with broker dealers and asset management business. Skilled in US GAAP, US SAP, Risk Based Capital, Bermuda STAT, Bermuda BSCR, external audit, SoX, SEC reporting, US and Bermuda regulatory reporting, economic / embedded value measurement and risk management framework.
