About James Kearns

My practice in maritime finance is the result of my having been introduced to maritime financing structures for oil tankers and other ocean-going vessels in my work at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, and having carried that over to the inland waterways at Bryan Cave and now to Jones Walker. I regularly handle vessel construction contracts, bareboat and time charters, leveraged lease financings, vessel purchases and sales, ship mortgages, ocean carrier contracts, pooling agreements, and other maritime matters. I am an officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Inland Rivers, Ports & Terminals, Inc. I am licensed to practice in Missouri and the District of Columbia, and in New York (inactive).
