PCB Commodity Manager reporting to the Global Commodity Manager managing PCB strategy for manufacturing locations in East Asia, Pacific and India. Part of the Global Commodity Team to define and drive global PCB strategy, commercial term negotiations, supplier development, supplier performance management and supplier relationship management.

Work Description :• Manage Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and Printed Circuit Boards Assembly (PCBA) strategies for Schneider Electric Batam which has an annual spend of US$120 million and 20 suppliers.   • Manage and implement the commercial terms in the SAP system in accordance with the negotiated contract for buyers in Batam to issue Purchase Orders (POs).• Manage quarterly PCBA price reconciliation, material reconciliation and inventory holding costs with the EMS providers. • Maintain costing performance data in system for consolidated reporting to management.• Sourcing of alternative suppliers and parts for Value Analysis (VA), Value Engineering (VE) and Price Benchmarking.• Facilitate business case investigation to justify investments for VA and VE activities with the returns on investments (ROI).• Initiate and manage supplier or part qualification process with cross functional teams like Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance and Business Units. • Escalation path for Buyers to resolve critical delivery issues with suppliers to prevent  production line down.• Global supplier leader for 2 PCB suppliers with annual spend of US$15 million where the responsibilities are to lead bi-annual price negotiation, long term contract negotiations, conduct quarterly business and performance review, point of escalation for global sites and to manage the supplier relationship.• Participate and support Global Commodity Management in global negotiations for other key suppliers used in my region.  Experiences Gained and Key Achievements:• Acquired purchasing knowledge of PCB and PCBA.• Developed skills to communicate effectively and efficiently across a bigger cross functional team as compared to previous jobs.      • Achieved 4.5% cost reduction result in 2012 and 6% cost reduction result in 2013 through negotiation, localization and VA/VE activities. On track to achieve another 6% cost reduction for 2014.

Work Description :• Manage and resolve all commercial issues for Connectors, Relays, Switches and  Resistors. • RFQ and selection of best price for project bidding.• RFQ and supplier selection for projects going into mass production.• Quarterly cost negotiations with vendor.• Sourcing of alternative vendors and parts for Value Analysis (VA), Value Engineering  (VE) and Price Benchmarking.• Recommendation of source and parts or in-house ODM projects and open source  requirements from end customers.• Escalation path for Buyers to resolve critical delivery issues with suppliers to prevent  production line down.• Constantly explore and identify cost reduction opportunities in order to ensure that the Company maintained its competitiveness.• Prepare market trends report on a quarterly basis for assigned commodities for reporting to management.• To manage and maintain good working relationship with strategic suppliers to foster  greater collaboration.

Work Description :• RFQ and supplier selection for Electronic Components (Passive Components) prior to  mass production and ensuring parts are purchased at the optimum price.• Backup for Active Components and Interconnects.• Drive half yearly cost reduction for commodities under my charge.• To ensure that Material Master, Purchase Info Records, Source List and Quota  Arrangement are properly set up in SAP prior to mass production.• To perform yearly supplier review.• Overall ownership to drive sourcing, cost and delivery.• Support ODM Engineers on components recommendation during design phase.• Provide commercial and technical support to NPI buyers during new product  introduction.• Provide DFM support to Engineering team for manufacturability issues and cost  effectiveness. • To identify cost reduction opportunities and to actively involve in cost reduction  measures, identify cost savings driven factors. • Work with Engineering team on ECN implementation.• AOS Management during build phase and initial production phase.• Develop and drive lead-time reduction / JIT programs with the vendor.• Escalation path for Buyers when it comes to delivery and commercial issues from suppliers.• In charge of procurement data management and training for system migration from JDEdwards to SAP in Jul 2009. • SAP trainer and coordinator for Supply Base Management department since Jul 2009.
