A short term contract based within Leeds Law School at Leeds Metropolitan University coordinating the launch event of the new Postgraduate Diploma In Paralegal Practice and looking at re-branding the school and integrating Social Media into the schools ethos.

To facilitate small group activities/team building exercises, i.e. summer schools, parents evenings, one day activities, etc.To ensure group discussion and time managementTo impart information and answer questions relating to life as a student at university to school/college students and parentsEncourage consideration of Higher Education as an option for the future

A variety of roles across the institution working alongside the Communication & Marketing Team- Leading Campus Tours Fortnightly- Undertaking Accomodation Tours of Halls of Residence- Presenting "Welcome" Lectures- Representing the University at Careers Conventions in Schools & Colleges in West Yorkshire promoting the University and its work- Assisting in Open Days, Applicant Days, Student Welcome Week's and Graduation Ceremonies - Participating in Online Open Days

With specific responsibility for The Northumberland Church of England Academy (NCEA)To support, mentor and encourage post 16 students from a low socio-economic background to consider Higher Education as an option in the future To set up and deliver a wide range of events across Northumberland to compliment the scheme•Work with the Project Manager to develop an agreed action plan•Establish links with the High School and College based Aimhigher Co-ordinators in their home area, as directed by the Project Manager.•Sustain links throughout the period of the contract by regular contact with the designated institutions.•Produce a biography/personal history for use within Aimhigher Northumberland publicity material and on the website.•Contribute to newsletters and website updates as requested by the Project Manager.•Undertake visits to the relevant schools and colleges to give formal/informal talks to students.•Prepare and deliver presentations to small groups of school/college students.•Provide written reports on activities undertaken as required by the Project Manager.• Attend team meetings as required by the Project Manager.

To provide mentor support to mentees in West Yorkshire. To attend the enrichment programme activities and celebration eventsTo attend the email mentor training sessions and any other top up training sessions and monitoring meetings requiredTo listen and discuss anything of importance to the mentees identifying challenging but realistic goals and targets with the young peopleTo help the mentees to develop the qualities of persistence and self-disciplineTo enable the mentees to develop a positive attitude to the problems facing themTo help the mentees develop problems solving skillsTo help the mentee develop study skills and learning strategies
