I create not merely objects, but a sense of harmony in physical space which flows from a combination of correct scale, mindful use of materials, classical foundations in design, and a heightened awareness of the technical opportunities of fine craftsmanship. Be it any piece from a chandelier to a bed, I create a backdrop for the theater of my Client’s lives, objects specifically made to gracefully tell their story.My design often draws on an underlying inspiration from 17th century elements of furniture design — the first period in the history of design which strives to integrate ancient and contemporary into harmonious living environments. In my eyes, Classical furniture design is not only a historical style, but serves as a time-proven standard of design. It offers the foundation to create timeless pieces. These pieces stand beyond the current of historical styles and trends by merging clean, timeless form with skillful and unique craftsmanship. It is this combination of simplicity and clarity, on the one hand, and complexity and concreteness on the other, which gives each of my designs a life and style of their own.My creations are realized through integrity of design and craftsmanship. I have an exceptionally developed sense of scale, as well as training and practical experience in a wide variety of applied arts. My natural affinity to understand and master fine crafts enables me to reinterpret the traditional implementation methods of Old World crafts in the creation of distinctly original pieces. Technical skills allow me to have full control over the implementation of my designs to ensure their highest quality. My technical affinities also have an impact on my designs themselves, as I confidently stretch implementation techniques to their very limits, turning unrealized artistic possibilities into a unique and actual presence.
