Its main product was the "dermatome," a hand-held electromechanical device used for removing skin for skin grafting. The owners were struggling with the managers who had run the business from 1998 until my arrival, with my early work including hiring a complete new staff, working through an extensive FDA investigation, and establishing a long-term contractual relationship with Integra LifeSciences, a worldwide distributor of medical devices. We also secured a patent for an ultrasonic version of the dermatome.I was pleased that my last full year running the company, 2016, was by far the best in its history. Dadson exceeded its previous best year by $1 million in revenues, and had its most profitable year as well.

I then negotiated with 4 potential suitors and finally sold the company to a large foreign company that wanted to enter the U.S. market with already proven products. Epic also had an aerospace division, which was included in the sale.
