James Marks RIAS RIBA Int’l Assoc. AIA is a chartered architect with more than two decades' experience in architectural practice operating as a specialist consultant in the field of bridge and infrastructure design. A former Associate-Director at Wilkinson Eyre Architects where he worked exclusively on transportation and infrastructure projects for nearly twelve years, James has a proven track record of managing the architectural design of major engineering projects. Throughout his career James has consistently designed and delivered award-winning bridges, viaducts and specialist buildings.Prior to working for Wilkinson Eyre Architects, James worked at Foster & Partners as an Architect on the world-renowned McLaren Technology Centre for the Formula 1 racing team. He is a graduate of the architecture school at Edinburgh University where he attained a distinction for his second degree course in architectural design and was awarded the Royal Scottish Academy Prize for Architecture in 1999. He is a chartered member of the RIBA and the RIAS and an international associate of the AIA (American Institute of Architects). He has lectured at UK universities and internationally on the topic of bridge aesthetics and about the successful integration of the architect into multidisciplinary design teams. He has written numerous technical papers about his extensive portfolio of work and presents regularly at international conferences.
