Drove efforts to replace a legacy Python 2 web frontend with a modern, Python 3-based Flask web app to wrap Ableton's legacy services, using distributed Python workers to enable concurrent job execution and speed up sound content processing. Improved the quality of a large legacy Python codebase gradually through unit and integration testing, refactoring, process automation, documentation, and new features. Efforts in this area led to a 40% increase in test coverage, a significant UX improvement, and a drastic reduction in defect rate. Led the effort to fully port Ableton's core sound content infrastructure from Python 2 to Python 3.

Served as scrum master and developer on a high-risk refactoring project of two complex, legacy Scala/JVM microservices that play a pivotal role in the Media Cloud infrastructure. Refactored components of Workday's iOS application to increase maintainability and facilitate easier addition of new features.

Using Python and AWS, paired on the effort to refactor a video processing service using a distributed worker pattern to increase the scalability and reliability of uploads and encodings. Contributed to the development of a quizzing and captioning solution for a video player using ES6, Node.js and Knockout.js.

Led the initial development of a core Python REST API as a mediator for a suite of media microservices, following the acquisition of MediaCore by Workday.

Contributed to the development of MediaCore's web-based media platform, working on both the front- and back-end of the system. Worked with Python, SQLAlchemy and various third-party libraries to continually improve upon, and add new functionality to, MediaCore's server-side web application.

Contributed to the development and maintenance of the Faculty's server infrastructure and web-based services. Worked with technologies such as Python, MySQL and Bash to contribute to projects such as the Faculty's public-facing website, digital image database, and online calendar of events.

Contributed to the development of MediaCore's web-based media platform, working on both the front- and back-end of the system. Used Google's Closure Library and HTML5 to implement portions of a fully responsive, redesigned front-end interface for the client-side application.
