When people or companies get sued it can be overwhelming. I involve them and explain each step in the process and communicate often mostly to keep their fear at bay.I have a done a lot in my career and I am not even halfway done. My father is nearly 80 and is in charge of IBM patent enforcement. Currently I am helping a start up raise money to buy wind farms in Texas, Australia and India. Eventually will act as their full time outside counsel if all goes as we hope it does. I settled the very first commercial dispute over the Deepwater Horizon over a beer with my client and a BP lawyer for a lot of money. I could have personally made a few million. Instead I got two beers out of it.I love working with a team. I was an all state tennis player with a very bright future but I chose to play basketball. Went on to play in college. My best friend from then went on to be drafted in the first round of the NBA draft. I was elected President of my fraternity and effected controversial change on a national level. Went and took the LSAT on a dare but thought it better to know the law than get an MBA for when I started my first business… instead of that I help people in business.I am very active in feeding the homeless. Once or twice a month I am the head cook at my church preparing meals for those who live under highway overpasses.
