Terp Thon is the largest student-led fundraiser in the state Maryland and supports Children’s National Hospital. As part of the Partnerships Committee I build connections with companies that want to help spread and support Terp Thon’s cause. This is often accomplished through arranging donations, special fundraising events, or appearances/sponsorships for our Dance Marathon in March.

Getting to work with people from both the CMNS school and Engineering school allows me to learn new and diverse ways to both look at and solve problems. As a member of the Smith Business Leadership Fellows (SBLF) inaugural cohort I have been able to work closely with former Associate Dean Victor Mullins to offer feedback on student experience from this new program. Through SBLF I have worked on a consulting project for the Center for Global Business at the Robert H. Smith School of Business where my team devised a plan to increase student involvement and pitched the plan to industry professionals.

I am the executive producer for The Locker Room Podcast, which takes an inside look at the world of sports business to better understand the professional side of sports. I lead a team of twelve members in order to record, edit, and release episodes on a weekly basis. Through the Locker Room Podcast I have gained skills and experience within Adobe Creative Cloud utilizing photoshop and Premier Pro video editing. The Locker Room Podcast currently has over 2,500 all time plays and has featured guests like Shawne Merriman, Taylor Cummings, and Melo Trimble.

I utilized QuickBooks Online in order to manage 12 client accounts. I handled the categorization of bank and credit card transactions, payroll journal entries, depreciation journal entries, and the adjustment of loans and interest for all of these clients. I also compiled end of month and end of quarter financial statements for all of these clients in order to provide financial updates to each company.

During the pandemic I started my own small business selling wooden pallet flags and custom signs within my community. I directed and executed my own marketing plan to reach customers within my community, managed and produced orders for over 50 clients, and observed a 4-digit revenue stream. Going in with no prior experience in woodworking, I was challenged to constantly adapt and learn new skills in order to keep my business successful.
