We're all storytellers. We just don't know it yet.I find education on storytelling and writing severely lacking. It's often so prescriptive, focused on giving rules mostly designed for test preparation. That's all quite useless outside of school. It's unfortunate because stories are universally important, for work, for our creative projects, and for our personal relationships. I try to teach my students to teach themselves. I want them to form critical relationships with their own writing. I want them to be curious and to ask questions. I'm done with giving them answers. That's their job. My job is to equip them with some helpful processes and some confidence.I run workshops for creative professionals, private tutoring sessions for primary, secondary, and university students, and consultations for professionals with stories to tell.Really keen to meet other storytellers and writers and chat about our beautiful vocation and its education.
