*Daily responsibilities consist of conducting preflight, thru flight and post flight inspections on HH-65A/B. Inspect work of aircraft mechanics performing maintenance, modification, or repair and overhaul of aircraft and aircraft mechanical systems to ensure adherence to standards and procedures. Inspect new, repaired, or modified aircraft to identify damage or defects and to assess airworthiness and conformance to standards, using checklists, hand tools, and test instruments. Grounded unsafe aircrafts as well as perform maintenance to return aircrafts to airworthy condition.*Key areas of competency in testing, fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repair, including maintenance of electrical and flight instruments systems, aircraft avionic systems (autopilot, radar, communications) component repair of aircraft electrical parts (generators, engine control units, instruments, actuators) and calibration of instruments. *Inspected aircraft log books for discrepancies. Prepared and maintained detailed repair, inspection, investigation, and certification records and reports. Investigated Aviation maintenance accidents and complaints to determine causes and implement strategies to minimize future accidents. Prepared detailed reports review and submit changes for approved Coast Guard Aviation maintenance publications where necessary. Handled routine Quality Assurance duties to include logbook inspections and verified completed work In Accordance With approved publications.*Provided training directions, encouragement, motivation, and nutritional advice to prepare recruits to ensure readiness and fitness for service. Planned, organized, and conduct practice sessions for over 800 Coast Guard recruits. Explained and enforced safety rules and regulations.
