Environmental Laboratory Supervisor
The Fitzpatrick Environmental Laboratory performs analysis of Radiological Effluent Monitoring Program (REMP) samples for 5 Nuclear Sites located in the Northeast. As Lab Supervisor I was responsible for scheduling and supervision of the Environmental Laboratory staff. Coordinated sample receipt, analysis, reporting and billing of Radiological Samples received at the laboratory from Client Sites.Over saw the implementation of the software upgrade of the Laboratory Information Database to WinCDM.Worked with Corporate IT group to implement automated transfer of gamma spectroscopy results to the WinCDM database. This upgrade removed the need to hand enter spectroscopy results into the database thus improving sample turn around times while reducing data entry errors.Upgraded Laboratory Countroom Gamma Spec equipment to Ortec digital ADC/MCA (d-Spec jr) and electronic detector coolers. Developed and implemented automated report generation of client sample results through the Laboratory Website. These reports allowed the clients to prepare and print from there desktops summary sheets of sample results prepared by the lab. This allowed for automated annual REMP reports to be prepared for submittal to the NRC. These reports cut the preparation time needed to prepare the annual REMP report from several months to just a couple weeks.
