Jim Scott is an IT Industry Executive with The School of Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati. He is a faculty member and in addition to partnering on teaching Senior Project Design, he is focused on building industry partnerships between the IT Program and businesses and institutions in Greater Cincinnati. He most recently was the CIO for the KnowledgeWorks Foundation, a nonprofit focused on reinventing high school education in America. Jim’s focus was on developing and expanding the Foundation’s SaaS learning management system for high schools, implementing business intelligence and analytics tools for Strive communities across the country, and leading the IT function for the organization. Prior to KnowledgeWorks, Mr. Scott held the role of CTO at The Kroger Company, where he was responsible for Architecture, Software Development, Data Management, Customer Support Centers and IT Strategy. Mr. Scott has nearly 30 years of experience in systems and technology, including experience in software development, project/program management, strategic planning, product development and process engineering. Previous positions include Senior Vice President and CTO at Fifth Third Bank, where he was responsible for all aspects of Information Technology, and 11 years with Fidelity Investments, where his last role was Senior Vice President of Products, Services, and Systems. Mr. Scott currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the INTERalliance of Greater Cincinnati. He also serves on the University of Cincinnati Department of IT Advisory Board. He is a frequent volunteer for many other events in Cincinnati. He is currently working on projects for the Higher Ed Collaborative, projects with the Cincinnati Chamber and other technology projects in the region.He served 5 years on the Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Cincinnati.
