As vicar, I lead the ministry and mission of this busy suburban church, ministering to all ages. I am also an honorary Canon of Ely Cathedral, Rural Dean of Cambridge South.We have a ministry team of ten people, are a training parish and have Cambridge ordinands on placement. We have links with Homerton College (where I am an Associate Fellow), eight local schools, Addenbrooke's Hospital and our local Queen Edith's Community Forum. Recently we opened our refurbished St John's Centre, and are developing a range of community initiatives. We are a partner in the Cambridge Churches Homelessness project, and a provider of parenting courses via the Cinnamon Network. Our core values are listening, learning and transforming, as we seek to serve the local community, grow in faith, and proclaim God's love. I also serve on the Spirituality Advisory Group of Ely Diocese, as the Bishop's Spirituality Adviser, and am a trained spiritual director.I am an Assistant Director of Ordinands, a member of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis, and a part-time member of the Chaplaincy team at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

My last post was as Vicar of Great Bowden Parish, Foundation Governor at Great Bowden Academy, and Team Vicar in the wider Harborough Anglican Team. I am a member, previously Chairman, of the Peterborough & Leicester Dioceses' Spirituality Group (PALS), lead Quiet Days & Retreats at Launde Abbey, Retreat Centre of the Diocese, as well as being a Spiritual Director and on the Referral Team. I am on Diocesan Synod & served on the Crown Nominations Commission for the See of Leicester (2015). Since 2014 I have been Chairman of the Great Bowden Music Fest. In 2015 I was also appointed Co-convenor of the Welland Valley Partnership, comprising the Harborough Anglican Team and eight rural parishes. I am training incumbent to a Team Curate and line manager to a Children & Families Development worker.

During the period 2010-2011 I served the Harborough Team as an Associate Priest. I was also Co-ordinator of Market Harborough Street Pastors, a Chaplaincy volunteer at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and a post-graduate student at Sarum College, Salisbury, studying Christian spirituality. During this time, Market Harborough Street Pastors won two County awards. I also wrote poetry, taught and published several articles on prayer and spirituality. It was a time of significant spiritual transformation.

Rector of large suburban parish, with Church of St James, Birstall and Church of Our Lady & St Nicholas, Wanlip. Community Governor at Highclifee Primary School. During this period St James' Church was re-ordered to create a new community space, work began on Wanlip Church Hall, to create a combined church & community centre, and I led a walking pilgrimage to Lincoln to raise funds for these local developments.

This was a wide-ranging post, involving support to the Bishop & parishes, Diocesan policy development, community & inter-faith relations, ecumenical work, policy research, work with the media, conference planning & I served as Vice Chairman of University of Leicester Chaplaincy Council. During this period I also travelled with the Bishop to our Link Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania.

Training post in busy Cambridge suburban parish, involving preaching, liturgy, pastoral work, children & youth leadership etc. I initiated a Centre for Youth Ministry project placement, served as Chairman of local St James' Community Forum, secretary of South Cambridge Churches Together, Chapter Clerk of Cambridge Deanery, and established overseas links with Church of Christ the Saviour, Mitchell's Plain, Cape Town, as well as CMS in Sudan.

Served as part of dynamic policy planning team, working to the Chief Executive. Particular roles in supporting development of local community partnership - 'Brinnington Community 2000' (outer Manchester estate) - as well as successfully securing regeneration funding, assisting the development of youth services and researching demographic data.

Authored report on youth unemployment, 'Images of Want - Young People out of Work' (published, Church Action on Poverty, 1995), on basis of extensive qualitative & quantitative research; cited in House of Lords debate on unemployment. Also served for a time on the National Executive Committee of Church Action on Poverty. Spoke at several international conferences on Christian social responsibility.

Served as a pastoral assistant, within thriving Cathedral parish, as a part of a graduate root group, including wide-ranging children & youth work, pastoral care, volunteering within Cathedral Education Centre, working with local homeless hostel. Also part-time secondments to the Anglican Communion Office in London (working to Director of Communications), and Church Communications Ltd.
