Currently retired after 40 years from the Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, Air Force Research Lab, Sensors Directorate, RF Technology Division, Electronic Combat Branch. Previously employed as senior research and development engineer in the specialized area of exploratory development of next generation communication countermeasures. Team Leader for the Command and Control Warfare (C2W) team, responsible for providing technical mentoring and direction for team members, establishing research project, plans, and priorities for both current and future projects. Responsible for technical oversight of the Sensor Electronic Defense Laboratory (SEDL) in-house facility to develop, evaluate, and validate electronic attack countermeasure approaches. Directs contracted developments which relate specifically to advanced communication countermeasures providing technical direction to ensure compatibility to Air Force needs. Current areas of interest are Cognitive Radio/Electronic Warfare, counter small unmanned aerial vehicles (SUAS), wireless network countermeasures, applying signal-processing techniques against anti-jam (AJ) and low probability-of-intercept (LPI) waveforms. Currently employed part-time with MERC and WSU.Specialties: Electronic Warfare, Digital Communication, Cognitive Radio, Spread Spectrum, and Digital Signal Processing
