I've been working in mechanical integrity across the energy sector for over 15 years, predominantly in gas turbines, civil nuclear and oil and gas. I have a particular interest in Level 3 assessments and using simulation to provide insight when things have gone ‘beyond code’.Technical Skills-Advanced structural and thermal Finite Element Analysis-Static/dynamic/modal/vibration analysis-Fatigue, fracture and Fatigue Crack Growth-Structural design evaluation at concept, preliminary and detailed design stages-Classical hand calculations (Roarks / Peterson)-Codes and Standards (for example ASME III / VIII, BS 7608, PD 5500, BS 5950, API 579, R6)Management, Planning and Responsibility-Proposal writing, defining technical scope of work, methods and tools to be used, contractual and commercial arrangements, including cost and time estimation.-Many years experience managing consultancy projects, combining resource management with controlling technical and commercial risks whilst maintaining responsibility for all aspects of delivery.-Responsible for project commercial performance, focusing on profitability and working capital.-Provide oversight of projects as Project Auditor, carry out technical audits to provide independent review of all project risks ultimately leading to approval of deliverable reports.-Group Leader, responsible for resource planning and supervision/mentorship of team of five.-Business development.-Carry out interviews of prospective staff.
