After moving to Beeston in 2016 from Nottingham City centre to open a coffee shop. Missing the fun of city centre bars and spotting Beeston’s potential for a great night out, midweek coffee shop cocktail nights were trialled and the success of these sold-out evenings highlighted that Beeston had potential for more and finding a full-time venue became the priority, from there The Berliner was born. Taking inspiration from Nottingham’s independent bar scene and the unapologetic, cool spirit of Berlin, The Berliner exists to give every guest a guaranteed good night out and firmly place Beeston on the map.The bar consists of a full weekly events calendar of fun, surprising, innovative and relevant live entertainment, which is usually free and has a team of passionate bartenders and events curators.After successfully running the company for seven years, an offer came on the table to sell the company and the sale went through in May 2023.

Born out of a pop-up retail project over November & December, 2015, Froth Coffee Shop was an events-led coffee shop that served breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, along with occasional cocktail nights with live music and entertainment. The venue still runs today under a new name and with new owners.

I founded Prisma in 2013; the project was a creative outlet whilst studying for my Business degree.The brand put design skills to the test we started creating clothing in our bold graphic style. We also started putting on events around Nottingham, becoming well known for their gigs which showcased up and coming artists - many of which have since made it into the UK Charts.When approaching graduation, I brought alongside a business partner and we decided that Prisma had enough potential to become a full time enterprise. We​ invested the small amount of savings we had and opened our first retail outlet in Nottingham.After 6 months of running our own shop, our ties in the local music scene had grown stronger and the manufacturing and printing of clothing became bigger than our store so after a successful Kickstarter campaign was launched, with 132% of the initial funding goal being reached, we closed our store and opened our printing studio.We stopped taking on new orders in 2016, where other opportunities had arisen.
