As Executive Assistant to the Warden, I served on the Executive Staff of a medium security federal prison. I was responsible for conducting orientation for new inmates, providing training for new and current staff, preparing Executive correspondence for the Warden's signature, and researching and preparing reports for the Warden's review. I also served as Public Information Officer for the facility and in that capacity, I had extensive dealings with the media on both a local and national basis. In this position, I received recognition from media experts regarding my handling of various media inquiries. I also coordinated meetings between inmates and their attorneys and I coordinated the internal inmate grievance process and I was responsible for the institution's strategic planning and won two national awards in that effort..

It was my responsibility to investigate claims for property damage in compliance with the specific policy limitations and to report to the insuring company with my recommendations for settlement.
