Following the acquisition of SGA Property Consultancy by KPMG, I led a national team of environmental consultants. My key responsibilities included opportunity generation, proposal development, and service line management including team performance, leading projects, and providing technical oversight. My role was focused on providing contaminated land and hazardous building materials advice for technical due diligence, land development, regulatory compliance, and assurance services across a wide variety of projects.

Having previously worked as a sub-consultant to SGA Property Consultancy, I took an opportunity to move in-house and establish the environmental service line. I was responsible for development and implementation of the service line business plan, client and opportunity management, and project delivery. The projects I led required assessment of contaminated land and hazardous building materials, primarily for due diligence and/or development purposes. The service line revenue, profitability, and team size grew significantly under my leadership which was a key factor in the acquisition of the business by KPMG.

In order to comply with new legislative requirements, I was engaged to implement a strategy to assess contaminated land risks across all land within the Council boundary. This required acquisition and digitisation of data to enable risk ranking of land using a bespoke source-pathway-receptor GIS analysis model. I also assessed the requirement to apply contaminated land planning conditions and review subsequent reporting associated with development applications.
