A dedicated professional with a strong passion for the EdTech sector, James works with over 3800 schools and colleges, both in the UK and internationally.With extensive experience in the leadership and coordination of teams and project management abilities, James has spearheaded transformational change in organisations. Prior to his current role, James led all areas of digital technologies at a UK independent school - including significant change management of processes - cloud migration, infrastructure requirements and implementations for new buildings and teaching rooms, training and development of staff in both Google and M365, and implementing crucial tools such as Parent Portals and a 1:1 iPad Rollout. James was previously an Associate Assistant Headteacher at a state Secondary school of over 1,200 pupils. His expertise encompasses staff deployment, options, and timetabling, with a deep understanding of SIMS.net and Nova T6. The role extended to the management of the whole School Calendar, Cover, and other critical school-related functions, including responsibility for Examinations and using SIMS.net Exams Organiser.While juggling these multifaceted roles, James has a strong passion for education, stemming from his background in classroom teaching. He relishes the opportunity to engage and challenge students in both theoretical and practical applications of their knowledge. James' technical understanding extends to his development of school-wide systems, encompassing internal and external web services, data integrations into MIS systems, and plugins for parental engagement systems. As a proficient programmer skilled in various languages, he has taught students from Key Stage 2 to A Level, covering languages such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, SQL and Visual Basic. His innovative approach extends to the creation of online tools that enhance students' cognitive abilities, including a widely-used revision tool and baseline test adopted by over 30 schools in the UK.In his capacity as a curriculum leader, James has been instrumental in driving positive changes across multiple departments. He has successfully overseen curriculum modifications and improvements, showcasing his expertise in team training and restructuring. Furthermore, James worked closely with an Examinations board, where he authored delivery guides for new IT specifications and continues to serve as an assessor for IT and Computer Science qualifications.
