I started off working in the driers as a yard man moving trailers and taking samples of the dried product. 6 months later I was moved to the water stream where I operated the biggest section of the plant. I took samples of the different areas of the water stream, mainly the drum thickeners. The water stream included the inlet screens, grit removal, lamella tanks, odour control units, SBRs and the UV plant. In late 2009 I volunteered to move to the Thermal Hydrolysis plant which also included operating the anaerobic digesters and the combined heat and power plant. I took samples and analysed them in order to troubleshoot the process.2006- 2008: Daly Duties, Crumlin, Dublin 12.Position: When I first moved to Ireland I started working as a gardener and landscaper with Daly Duties. I gained much experience in the area, and even took up a course in horticulture. I had done the accounts with the company, dealt with clients and had integrated well into the Irish culture.

I operated all pumps and associated equipment with the plant and 22 outlying pump stations. As part of a team we performed annual maintenance on the process including cleaning out tanks and wetwells for inspection. As a team, we converted our calculations from manual to spreadsheet form and changed from running the plant based on SRT only to a Total Mass Control of the process, encorporating all of the mass in the plant.
