    The N3 Butlersbridge to Belturbet Road Improvement Scheme comprises the construction of 6.7km of standard single carriageway which includes a bypass of Belturbet Town and a major river crossing of the River Erne. The construction Contract was awarded to Ferrovial Agroman PT McWilliams Ltd. J.V. in April 2011 and construction commenced in May 2011. This project is funded by the Irish Government, the form of Contract is the new Public Works Contract designed by the Contractor PW-CF4.

    This Private Public Partnership (PPP) scheme was the second of its kind to be awarded in Northern Ireland and included 3 major Road Works schemes. I was predominantly involved with Scheme 1 – the Newry bypass that consisted of a 12 mile stretch of high quality dual carriageway bypassing Newry City comprising 16 structures, over half a million m3 of rock cut and another 2 million m3 in earthworks. The Contract Form was Bespoke. My role as Scheme 1 Quantity Surveyor was to report directly to the Commercial Manager and Project Manager.
