Developed various software testing tools both console and GUI using C# and C/C++/MFC. Created test cases for testing networking components such as IPTV, DHCP and DLNA. Web site testing and trouble shooting of various ASP.NET Web sites for clients. Developed various Web based JavaScript test harness tools that were data driven (XML), along with C/C++ and C# data driven development. Created test cases mapped to SRS\PRD\ERD depending on situation and specifications available. Tested and verified many of the specific components of the ASP.NET sites such as video and audio delivery systems, Web services, data base backends, shopping carts, site tracking, content management system, search engines, etc. In addition I worked with DMA and Extender set top box devices in the MCE/VIIV closed network environment. Some of the tools used in my work were Bugzilla, Mercury Test Director, Subversion, CVS, IEWatch, Wireshark, SharePoint, Dreamweaver, Visual Studio, and numerous others. Working in QA engineering department. Designed and developed multithreaded transport bit stream software tools for Satellite and Digital Cable communications systems. Created software tools that analyzed the communications transport bit streams (DVB\DSS) for various protocols such as AC-3, MPEG, ATSC, etc. Built, modified, and analyzed problems in communications transport stream. Designed auto-testing tools using various IR blasters via RS-232 communications and C++. Worked with high definition TV standards such as ATSC, MPEG-2, AC-3 Dolby, and numerous industry protocols such as MPT (Multipacket Transport Protocol), APG, and MPG. VOD, Conditional Access. Development on Windows NT\98 platforms with Visual C\C++ and MFC. Satellite and Digital Cable set-top boxes and systems.

Performed unit testing along with design and programming of a blood-analyzing computer control systems used in screening HIV and other types of blood abnormalities. Proprietary protocols were used for communications with the blood analyzer equipment. The platform was Windows NT with Visual C++\MFC\ODBC. Hand held scanner software design using the ICC 7700 “C” cross compiler from IAR for the Mitsubishi M16C 16-bit microprocessor.

Designed and programmed DSS Satellite bit stream software tools for DirecTV to be used for automated testing purposes. I was a technical design lead and designed/programmed tools using Visual C++ and MFC. The resulting satellite bit streams were stored on CD-ROM and sold to manufacturers of Integrated Receiver/Decoder’s to verify the correct operation of their devices. Communications protocols were embedded in these bit streams with various levels of encapsulation such as IP/UDP headers, Multipacket Transport Protocol, BARP, HTML, etc. I also did some design on a new object oriented Advanced Program Guide tool and worked on an application to capture or generate DSS Satellite bit streams using a newly written Windows NT driver.

Design and programming of embedded software applications for Air Traffic Control systems. The Voice Switch was a non-blocking digital switch based on Time Division Multiplex (TDM) technology. The portion I worked on mostly was the Air Traffic Controller console, which consisted of a Pentium CPU, ISDN link, Audio Processing Module, and pSOS Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) from Integrated Systems. In addition, I also worked on the Interface Message Handler, which ran on an NT Server platform. It used Windows network socket connections to the Voice Switch.

Designed and programmed applications and communications testing tools under Windows NT and 16 bit Windows, using Visual C++, MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes), ODBC, SQL, Access, Multiport RS-232 boards, and communications interfaces. Programmed control collection system for capturing viewership of cable channels per television in household. Organized software projects and wrote cable meter device firmware specifications, along with device interfacing. Managed various software projects, did initial system prototypes and established development platforms from network architecture to development tools. Wrote initial relational database applications and set network up.
