Jim Perry enjoyed a 25-year career in the healthcare industry with over 15 years in the private equity environment. He served as Director of Professional Development and Vice President of Operations prior to being chosen to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Affordable Care Incorporated. Perry helped lead the 3,000-person dental organization through multiple private equity transactions while establishing industry leading EBITDA multiples ranging from 14x -19x with enterprise values ranging from $310mm to $2.7B. After exiting Affordable Care, he led a dental startup as CEO, and has served as a board member for various dental entities and charitable organizations. He retired from the dental industry in 2019. Perry was elected to the North Carolina Senate in 2019, where he served for three terms until 2024. He was elected to Senate Leadership as Majority Whip in his first full term and held that position until his retirement from public service. Additionally, he served as Chairman of Finance, Health Care, and Appropriations on Health and Human Services while in the North Carolina Senate.He currently serves as Managing Principal for NC Capitol Strategies. CAP STRAT advises on Public Policy, Corporate Strategy and Business Development needs. Perry received a bachelor’s degree from NC State University and earned an MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
