James is currently working at Gresham Smith as a Traffic Signal Operations Engineer for the GDOT SigOps Program. Under this program James is responsible for traffic signal timing, traffic studies, traffic signal maintenance, and design of traffic signals. This project is responsible for over 1,700 signals in the West Metro Atlanta Area.James previously worked at AECOM in Atlanta, GA as a Traffic Engineer. At AECOM James worked on multiple projects involving traffic signal timing, traffic engineering studies, traffic studies for roadway widening and new location, as well as performing air and noise studies for federal and state roadway projects. These projects have ranged in size from single intersection studies, to coordinated timing plans on corridors of 30+ intersections, to roadway widening projects over 10 miles in length.James previously worked at The Georgia Institute of Technology for four years in Transportation Research. James worked on a before and after operational and safety analysis of the Diverging Diamond Interchange at Jimmy Carter Boulevard and I-85 north of Atlanta, a Work Zone Travel Time Technology study, and a Comparative Analysis of Video Detection System Camera's and Remote Traffic Microwave Sensor's counting capabilities for future use as supplementary Highway Performance Monitoring System reporting stations.Mr. Anderson has earned a Bachelor and Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. Furthermore, he is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia.
