Here I am accountable in the design and execution of service projects and service-based curriculum for disabled youth. Additionally, I have taught, led community-wide service projects, and oversaw volunteer efforts. Some of the contributions I am most proud of include garnering consensus to double the financial budget 100% after collaborating closely with the director to develop and write successful grant applications and fundraising strategies. I also achieved noteworthy success for advocacy efforts that were recognized by The Pearson Foundation/Peace Jam with distinction as the 2011 national winner of the Global Call to Action youth service contest. I was also honored with an appointment to introduce a keynote speaker at an International Youth Service Conference in Egypt. My focus here involved collaborating with top-level VA leadership on congressional and regulatory affairs in support of the largest integrated health care system in the US. I informed and recommended senior principals on progressive activities and coordinated briefings, meetings, and roundtables with staff and officials. I reported directly to the director, VA congressional outreach. My most memorable contribution was the increase in congressional deliverables I facilitated through diligent and deliberate follow-through. I also took it upon myself to assess program effectiveness leveraging my knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and health care administration and organizations to make recommendations for improvements, some of which were approved and implemented in VA policy and processes.

I primarily provided staff support and principal advisory services on legislative, congressional, and regulatory issues; this involved identifying, monitoring, and initiating agency actions for legislative and regulatory proposals. To streamline projects, I organized briefings to ensure clear project goals and defined program responsibilities for staff directors. I voluntarily served on special project teams formed to improve the implementation of administrative management systems and initiatives. I generally benefited from timely and expert Congressional response by reviewing cost estimates on bills introduced in Congress that affected VA programs and assisting in quickly disseminating the agency’s policy positions throughout the organization. I also worked quickly in reviewing newly enacted legislation for regulatory requirements to confirm compliance, consistency, and completion of congressional reporting requirements.

I performed a wide range of budget formulation reporting analyses and projects related to management. An element of this involved organizing and supporting the presentation and justification of the federal budget process to include the Agency, OMB, and Congressional submissions for OCSPP programs. I built and presented short- and long-term budgetary and financial data analyses for needs and requirements and played a role in evaluating final determinations on the approval/disapproval of program funding resources. I reported to the budget director, Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention.I was also charged with coordinating programs and quarterly reports to reflect accomplishments and advancements with minority-serving institutions and academic institution funding of Tribal and Native American populations.Most notably, I managed a 50% reduction in internal control risks identified through a review process for each key program identification. I also enjoyed the opportunity to lead agency efforts in establishing the framework for assessing and reporting internal controls over programmatic operations.One of my favorite projects involved collaborating with regional partners to develop and protect ecologically sensitive land management and sustainable water resources. Together we built a certification program, fostered climate change and pollution prevention grants, built corresponding educational models, and funded efforts targeting Native American populations and policies.

• Developed and implemented programs and activities to assist disabled youth in a local orphanage and regional schools, including integration and inclusion of minority children, English language training for youth, cross-cultural exchanges, and web based learning.• Helped develop and run a program for homeless youth in area to provide short term free housing and meals in exchange for the recipient joyfully providing volunteer services (ex. tutoring/coach athletics/’big brother program’) in support of special needs students in the local community. • Worked with high school students to develop volunteer habits, provided English language training for local educators, and hosted regional seminars on grant writing and fundraising for foundations.• Created and coordinated the charitable funding and planning of first disabled-friendly educational playground and public space in Elhovo. Responsible for recruiting and training NRA-ILA members and gun owners on political/legislative activism on a state and national level. Coordinated volunteers across 13 states in support of NRA endorsed political campaigns and candidates. Served as the NRA representative in public forums including giving speeches and participating in debates on 2nd Amendment issues, youth activism training, and campus workshops on youth politics through our NRAU program.Responsible for many of NRA-ILA's social networking activities, the "Grassroots News Minute" web component, and writing articles for the quarterly newsletter “Freedom Voice.”
