The Engaged Mindfulness Institute (EMI), formerly Peacemaker Institute, was founded in 2001. The Institute delivers trainings developed from a rich tradition of spiritually grounded, contemplative and mindfulness-based peace and social change work and the latest developments in neuroscience based leadership training.The Institute specializes in training professionals and volunteers who support at-risk individuals and communities and underserved populations. Mindfulness is foundational to all of our trainings. EMI developed and offers two mindfulness-based models for intervention: Mindfulness-Based Emotional Intelligence (MBEI)™ training and Mindfulness-Based Wellness & Resiliency (MBWR)™ training.

Responsible for the overall administration and implementation of an evidenced-based model treatment programming for a large Chapter 766 publically funded private school for youthful sex offenders, violent youthful offenders, and serious emotionally disturbed children and youth. Implemented a state of the art treatment program incorporating Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the Boystown Model of residential services.

Responsible for the development of model treatment programs for youth. In this capacity, served as the Executive Director of the Kolbourne School, Inc in New Marlboro, MA., and the designer and contracted managing director of the Tom Ray Center in Charlotte North Carolina. A secure setting for violent youthful offenders.

Designed, developed, implemented and directed a state of the art, evidence-based treatment for a state-wide Treatment Foster Care Program and Family-Based Services Program providing services for children, youth, and families.

Established the first New England Regional treatment center of Father Flanagan's Boys' Home in Portsmouth RI.
