I have over thirty years of professional experience in the environmental industry as a principal, senior project manager, hydrogeologist, site investigation specialist and groundwater modeler. Much of my work is related to investigation and remediation of “sensitive” or “distressed” sites – those sites which require unusually complex investigation strategy, represent significant liability exposure, and/or are currently associated with litigation or enforcement actions. Much of the work in my current position is related to expert witness testimony and litigation support in cases involving environmental damages and the modeling of future environmental costs. I manage a group of approximately 43 technical professionals (geologists, engineers, writers, chemists, and analysists) who provide technical support for project management teams on a wide variety of projects.I have been involved in developing standard operating procedures for hydrogeologic assessments within a large national environmental consulting company. I have been involved in developing computer models for many projects including three-dimensional solid-geometry visualization. I have also been involved in the evaluation of complex hydrogeologic systems and the design of numerous soil and groundwater remediation systems. During my career I have had the opportunity to manage or participate in several international projects including a drinking water assessment in Ukraine, investigation and remediation of a large MTBE release in Ireland and the hydrogeologic aspect of a multi-year investigation and remediation project in Brazil. I also have experience with IDEM’s RISC, LUST, Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) and the State Cleanup program.
