For the last 4 years I have worked in an environmental consultancy firm on behalf of a water utility company. My main three roles at this company were: - Environmental Inspector- Lead Environmental Inspector - Pollution Technician Initially my role was of a Environmental Inspector, investigating private businesses for commercial misuse during which time I achieved the highest compliance rate in the company. I then was promoted to Lead Environmental Inspector, continuing my previous achievements while I led a team of eight other inspectors. I was then recently given a more specialised role of Pollution Technician to put my skills and experience to work on higher priority incidents, successfully producing results for the client that would significantly impact their commercial interests. Each of these roles required skills in:- Communication - In person as well as over email and phone, dealing with a range of stakeholders, who at times could be confrontational. This included small business owners or larger organisations such as government agencies. Every day is different but I had to be able to present information to a range of audiences, deescalate confrontational situations and develop professional relationships with external stakeholders. - Technical - Using different software to investigate, record, present, map and monitor as needed. I utilized systems such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SAP and GISST. I am tech savvy and able to learn how to use such systems quickly and proficiently. I have never come across a system that I could not apply myself to effectively. - Teamwork – I have had to work independently and as part of a wider team, as well as with other teams in the organisation. I pride myself on being a core pillar of whichever group of people I work with, supporting everyone with my high work ethic and wide knowledge base. I learn quickly and enthusiastically and then really enjoy training others with what I have learned. Before joining my current employer I have enjoyed a range of other roles: - During the pandemic lockdowns I worked for Amazon as a Fulfilment Associate. - I studied French and Environmental Management and worked for a local community organisation in Marseille, France as part of an Erasmus placement. - I worked for several years in the Film Industry, working on multiple major film productions in a few different roles, though mainly as Environmental Assistant. - I have also worked in a range of bar and hospitality roles, including full time at a five star hotel.
