– Designed and implemented APIs and software stack for a user-scriptable compact satellite tracking product which served as the post-flight locator mechanism for NASA’s LDSD test flight (June 2014) and is in use in a variety of on-going tracking of various asset types including marine and personnel– Engaged with customers and integrators to realize custom project goals and translated common needs into general product features– Collaborated with overseas and domestic production facilities to design, manufacture and assemble product components including cable assemblies and printed circuit boards– Developed Bluetooth LE-based Apple iOS application for messaging and configuration of satellite tracker and maintained existing iOS tracking solution

Ported eLua and FreakUSB to SiLabs Cortex-M3 MCU platform and collaborated with client to create a compact end-user scriptable GPS tracking product (demoed at Iridium Partners Conf. 2013, in field testing)

Research– Modeled active electrosense using Python & MATLAB in weakly electric fish and bio-inspired robotic platforms to evaluate and select a method that successfully track objects underwater.– Designed, built and tested analog/digital signal generator and lock-in amplifier/digitizer and bio-inspired robotic platform which demonstrated the ability to track objects underwater.– Developed and deployed highly parallel versions of electrosense models on Linux and Mac OS X clustered computing environments enabling visualization and comparison of sensing and motor capabilitiesLab Manager– Coordinated adherence to research safety protocols and lab purchasing.– Supported and implemented technical services (web, database and backup).– Initiated and oversaw lab transition to revision control system (Subversion & Trac), used for software development and collaborative document writing in the lab.Communication & Teaching– Collaborated on curriculum development and oversaw lab component of 3 undergraduate courses in exper- imental design and electronics (25 students/class).– Presented findings at Neuroscience 2006, International Congress of Neuroethology 2008 and International Workshop on Robotic Electrosense 2012– Proposed and presented portions of “Python for High Performance and Scientific Computing” tutorial for Supercomputing 2009 and Supercomputing 2010 (approximately 100 attendees at 2010)
