Work with undergraduate and graduate school faculty and staff to create instructional development plans, and implement new course development programs and technologies.+ Provide strategic guidance to the CIO and contribute to the University technology and learning vision.+ Direct the design, specification, procurement, and implementation of technology solutions for the University.+ Create learning objectives, materials, and videos. Provide instructional technology training and support to faculty.+ Document processes and solutions to develop end-user guidelines and case studies on best practices.+ Assess the academic needs of the community and develop plans to enhance the curriculum.+ Coordinate with technical groups, instructional teams, and external vendors on complex projects.

Provide desktop, laptop, server, and mobile technology support including hardware and software installation, new technology purchases, updates, troubleshooting, and system migrations.+ Resolve complex computer, network, and communication problems over the phone, remotely, or in-person.+ Train, assign, and dispatch first tier techs to perform troubleshooting duties.+ Assist with technology help desk as needed. Track unresolved issues, follow up with end users, and fully document problems and solutions.+ Perform imaging and software installation of new laptops and desktops.+ Create and maintain documentation and online training for end users. Act as a team lead and train other full-time and part-time technicians.+ Analyze end user needs, evaluate the University’s technology use, and recommend improvements.

Manage a multimedia computer lab that provides training and support on emerging and creative technologies to approx. 2000 users a month.+ Configure, setup, image and maintain 225 computers (three classrooms, one open lab, three mobile laptop/tablet carts), office workstations, printers, and multiple OS X and Windows servers.+ Hire, train, schedule, and supervise fifteen lab assistants to maintain the help desk. Provide additional support when needed for tier II/III issues.+ Research new technology trends and provide assistance with selection, implementation, and long-term support. Collaborate and provide technical consulting to other departments across the University.+ Handle client communication, resource scheduling, biometric resource access, and social media marketing.+ Liaison with hardware and software manufacturers and vendors for service, support, maintenance, contracts, upgrades, and purchases.+ Maintain and repair 100+ pieces of AV equipment (iPads, cellphones, DSLR cameras, video cameras, lighting and audio equipment).+ Maintain inventory of all department hardware and software, including license management.+ Develop and maintain documentation and instruction for all available lab, classroom, and conference room technology.+ Maintain existing physical spaces and their AV systems. Renovate spaces to incorporate new technology and furniture types/layouts.+ Configure and maintain local and wide area network (including switches, routers, and wireless access points).+ Act as a resource for project management assistance for department initiatives.

Conduct user-centered instruction for faculty, staff, and students. Create instructional units to be presented for in-person workshops and online. Cover software literacy and curriculum integration for Apple Final Cut Pro, iMovie, DVD Studio Pro, and Adobe Premiere.

Responsible for all daily activities needed to keep the lab functioning. Handle client communication, scheduling for multiple people and resources, and provide technical support through one-on-one consultations. Mentor new employees, providing career development assistance and daily supervision. Provide production support to the Networked Learning Initiative.

Provide instruction and support for computer lab users with various multimedia applications. Maintain a high level of expertise in multimedia applications and support. Handle daily preventative maintenance of lab computers and loan equipment.
