For now over 50+ years, Savannah Science Seminar promotes an understanding and appreciation for the sciences in the fields of engineering, technology, physics, and the medical sciences, to our highly qualified secondary school students in Savannah, Chatham County, Richmond Hill, and Effingham County. The goal of the program is to give the region's high school students concrete knowledge of science based career opportunities and focuses the opportunities on interfacing with knowledgeable professionals through real world projects. As the Vice-Chair for the Board of Directors, I have had the privilege of working with a group of business and educational leaders as we built this organization into not only one of the smartest run science based programs, but one that has companies clambering to be part of the learning experience for these incredibly bright students with science preclivity. Since being part of the Board for over a decade now, we revamped and reinvigorated the program so that students learn through informative, participatory presentations and Hands-on-Workshops (HOWsessions) that are an advanced model of active and project centric learning environments which are changing education and corporate training processes alike. Along with Director Huy Ngo from SCAD, we have also developed an online test that has streamlined the admission process. As well, the entire program now relies solely on a series of INTERnet based communication transport layers to inform on each of the upcoming programs for the students, their parents, and the teaching institutions. As I have been funding this organization for near two decades, I count myself extremely lucky to be working with both talented SSS participants and Board members, as well as professionals in multiple science verticals! For more info, please check http://www.savsciencesem.org

With both patented algorithms that look historically at the patient state as well as predictive analysis algorithms applied to said state, hospitals can reduce the risks involved in post op care with event trigger alerts that focus on the patient and reduce the alert blindness at the nurses stations because of the high amount of false positives that permeate their care cycles.

After a ten year time span, Trustees Garden went through a series of incantations including serving as earthen forts guarding the river entrance against foreign invaders because of its height and proximity to the Savannah River. In the late 1800s, Trustees Garden became home to the largest iron works in the country, that of the famed Kehoe Ironworks, and now in all their splendor, several of the remaining buildings have been meticulously restored and repurposed with state of the art amenities for use centered around corporate and community events as well as the arts, entertainment and cultural affairs!Because of my background in architecture and construction, for an approximate 5 year time span (while also President of Morris Technology), I worked with the owner Charles H. Morris as the Owner's Representative to see his vision come to life for the restoration of the 11 acre Trustees Garden site with multiple buildings being brought back to life amidst large landscape architectural changes. Over the course of time, the role encompassed coordination between the owner and an extraordinaire team that included Cowart Group Architects and lead Architect Kevin Rose, their engineers, New South Construction, the Savannah Historic Review Board, and others to shepherd the process to completion. This process included being involved in the creation of requirement documents, to multiple ideations in the schematic design phase, ensuring that the honing of plans in design development phase for construction documentation met the owner's vision, and finally the completion of multiple buildings on the site for a visionary project that ultimately cost north of 8 figures!
