I began working in multiple departments in the store, receiving on the lead receivers off days while continuing to hold leadership in the front end. This was a great opportunity to become more involved in the grocery retail process and to get to know better both those in the farther departments and the vendors. The work was a healthy mix of invoicing, organizing back of house space, and coordinating with department leads.

I took on more responsibility in the front end, from keeping the cashiers stocked on bags and receipt tape to maintaining healthy break flow for the day. I got to really put to action my leadership skills in small ways both on paper (the daily schedule) and in person, both in taking the opportunity to handle difficult customer interactions and in working with the cashier team to improve efficiency and meet the changing goals of the front end overall.
