About James Redman

In collaboration with Institute of Nephrology in Cardiff and a local company we are developing electrochemical screen printed biosensors for detecting miRNA as a biomarker in human urine.I teach organic and biological chemistry on the undergraduate and MSc programmes at Cardiff University. I am a Year Tutor, with responsibility for overseeing the second year of the MChem and BSc programmes, School Assessment & Feedback lead, and Industrial Placement Coordinator.I am a member of the EPSRC peer review college. I am on the committee of the Royal Society of Chemistry South East Wales Local Section. I am treasurer and secretary for the European Symposium on Biological & Organic Chemistry (ESBOC).Specialties: chemistry education, organic chemistry, peptides, mass spectrometry, nucleic acids
