VeloMetro is a Vancouver-based startup developing semi-enclosed urban electric velomobiles. Their velomobiles allow novice cyclists to feel more safe on the roads, while also providing an option for bike commuters to transit in the rain without getting wet.My responsibilities included the redesign of the door and window sensor mounting system, which included fabricating custom test jigs developing CAD models and drawings. I also performed complex maintenance and repairs on multiple velomobiles to ensure fleet uptime, created hundreds of detailed engineering drawings for parts and assemblies, interfaced with parts suppliers, and contributed to project management and design review meetings.

Weatherhaven is a multinational company who specializes in the the design and manufacture of shelter systems. Weatherhaven's Coquitlam location is currently working on the $154M Headquarters Shelter System (HQSS) project to update the Canadian military's shelters with newer high-performance, modular shelters.Please note that my co-ops at Weatherhaven were during two undergraduate semesters, specifically May-Sept 2017 and Jan-May 2018, and not one continuous year.My responsibilities included contributing to the planning and execution of diverse testing for items of interest including component durability, thermal analysis, fabric mechanical failure, transport damage, field assembly, and more. I captured and analyzed testing data by utilizing custom testing jigs, dataloggers, and various testing equipment, providing valuable results for design validation. I also assembled, calibrated, and operated a 3D printer, allowing faster design iteration and clearer design communication with stakeholders.

Double R Rentals is an equipment rental store located in Ladner, BC. DRR provides rental services for small-scale equipment such as lawn mowers and weedeaters, to larger-scale equipment such as boom lifts, excavators, heavy-duty sewage pumps, and more.My responsibilities included servicing a large variety of light and heavy machinery to extend equipment lifetime and provide non-intensive repairs. I provided comprehensive instruction to customers on safety and best operating practices for the usage of equipment, and provided advice for equipment selection. I safely filled and troubleshooted customer propane tanks, and I was also the first staff member at the company to achieve a perfect score for my Propane Pump Attendant license test.

The Chong Blueberry Farms are a group of farms located in and around Ladner, BC that specialize in growing various types of blueberries.My responsibilities included the safe operation of large blueberry harvesting equipment in a co-operative team environment - including training new staff and resolving technical issues on the fly. Please note that I worked full time only during the harvesting season mid-Summer to early-Fall.
