James W. is a Founder and Principal Researcher and Consultant at SVVVL. He is proficient in French. Colleagues describe him as "I had James in Latin from the intermediate to advanced levels, and also in my Greek civilization course, both courses outside of his major. How a student copes with an elective course tells you a lot about that person. James could have easily rested on his substantial talent for language and done well - but he didn't. Every day, he showed up with all his work prepared, ready and eager to push himself to do better and to discuss the day's assignment with his peers. Although things came easily to him that often stymied his classmates, James was never anything but helpful and supportive. It is seldom that talent combines with humility, but James is proof that being brilliant is no bar to also being kind. He could easily go on to do graduate work in Latin, if he so wished; he has many gifts to choose from in his future, and he will bring an array of perspectives to whatever path calls him. I can imagine no team that could not be made better by putting James into it."
