About James George

I am a hands-on practitioner in Occupational Health and Safety systems. I am driven and have a results-oriented mindset with a sense of ownership on all aspects of OHS matters. I am definitely not a "safety policeman".I have a varied and in-depth experience for OHS requirements in various offshore/onshore marine infrastructure works, maritime dredging vessels, maintenance/engineering, industrial demolition and manufacturing.I've always keen on building relationships to form strong and sustainable ties with staff, internal/external stakeholders and management for the successful execution of OHS programs. I carry this out by being an effective negotiator in convincing the importance of OHS initiatives to all employees at any level. There is no reason to butt heads - especially in project executions where cost and schedule tend to override safety I have an in-depth and varied knowledge of OHS operational controls, as well as raising the bar in managing subcontractor's OHS performance. I have handled various challenges as a Safety Advisor in multiple projects in East Asia & Australia, including many cultural and socio-political challenges. By steadfastly pushing oneself & others, the barriers for successful OHS programmes can be overcome.Key Skills:✔ Operational & Safety Procedures ✔ Project OHS Management & Strategic Planning✔ Marine ISM/ISPS & OVID/CMID Inspections & Audits ✔ HAZOP/HAZID/HAZMAT/HFACS & Risk Management
