(Honest Education Action & Leadership) Together which aims to deepen a commitment for honest, accurate and fully-funded public education. Through partnering with a broad national coalition and on-the-ground organizers to better connect our communities and build power, the H.E.A.L. Together initiative works to counter the anti-CRT movement impacting our schools, while advancing a vision of a just, multiracial democracy that works for everyone.

James co-founded Rights & Democracy in 2015. He has extensive experience in running grassroots legislative advocacy campaigns, labor and community organizing. Together with our peers around the country we are committed to building a grassroots movement for human rights. The VWC started in 1998 and our work has grown exponentially since we launched the Healthcare Is A Human Right Campaign in 2008. In 2011, as a result of extraordinary grassroots pressure Vermont became the first state in the country to pass a universal healthcare law. As we fight to implement this system, we are are also working to build a movement for all of our human rights in our state and beyond. We can use all the help we can get and look forward to work with people everywhere to turn things around for all of our communities.
