As new employee, tasked with finding a way to accelerate inventory reporting from production facilities. Convinced management to use an Intranet solution which I then wrote using Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML, ASP, Javascript, vbscript, Visual Basic for Applications and ADO. Users would connect to corporate network daily inputting inventory numbers into a web form that saved data to a database. Corporate Finance team used an Excel spreadsheet with Visual Basic for Applications to retrieve data from SQL Server and populate worksheets. This reduced a highly manual all day process to under 10 minutes. Responsible for all datacenter operations, including hardware installation, environmental and power conditions.- Administrated Windows Servers, Cabletron Systems network equipment, EMC Symmetrix storage.- Responsible for operation of Microsoft Exchange Server, Lotus Notes server, Rightfax network fax server, SAP on clustered Microsoft SQL Server, network file and print servers.-Administered network equipment with frame relay links to ten facilities.- SAP Basis administrator for SAP R/3 3.1H system responsible for installation, operation, system copies, security authorizations, transport management.

Projects performed encompassed NT 3.5-to-4.0 migration, first tape library using Cheyenne Arcserve, Cheyenne Inoculan anti-virus server and client rollout, Rightfax network faxing solution, SAP LPD printer daemon for output from SAP. Co-leader of Intranet project which brought together representatives from engineering, document storage, marketing, finance and human resources to provide content. Setup Microsoft IIS with Visual SourceSafe to manage version control and release of web pages. Representatives from the departments used Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft Interdev to create new content, check out and edit existing content from department subsites. In 1997 a 500-year flood event hit the city and had up to 4 feet of water flowing through several site buildings, including filling the open space beneath raised datacenter floor panels. IT team restored most IT systems to full service ten hours following the flood.
